Q. I have been involved in an accident and failed to stop at the scene. I did report the matter to the police three days later. At that point I was told I may be taken to court. What am I likely to be charged with?

A. If you were at fault for the accident, it is likely you will face a charge of careless driving. If you failed to exchange details you will be charged with failing to stop. You must report an accident as soon as possible and in any case within 24 hours. You are likely to also be charged with failing to report an accident. |
